Add clear explanations to your work
Ask Claude to write notes, descriptions, or a quick how-to file based on what's already in the folder.

How to try Cowork
You'll need the Claude desktop app.
Important: Cowork is currently only available on Mac. Windows support is not yet available.
You need a Pro or Max subscription. If your account is eligible, you'll see a "Cowork" tab in the app.
You pick a folder for Claude to work in. It won't touch anything else on your computer.
Once you start a task, you just describe what you want. Claude shows each step, asks before making changes, and lets you review or pause if needed.
When it's worth using
Use Cowork when:
- You know what result you want but don't want to do all the clicking and sorting.
- The task has several parts, like organizing, fixing, explaining, or building.
- You want to stay in control but let the AI handle the heavy lifting.
Skip it when:
- You just need a quick answer or example.
- You don't want to give file access.
- You're still figuring out what you want to do.
